What is Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO?

Aperture – Shutter Speed – ISO

  • Aperture Aperture controls how much lisht enters the camera through the lens.
  • Shutter Speed Shutter speed controls how long the light through the aperture enters the camera.
    Slow shutter speeds 1″, 1/10, 1/50
    Fast Shutter Speeds 1/125, 1/500, 1/1000
The faster the shutter speed the sharper the image.
Rule ofThumb: You can handhold the camera when your shutter speed is ı/focal length.
  • ISO ISO numbers measure how sensitive the camera sensor is to light.
Lower ISO #’s (100, 200, 400) mean the camera sensor is less sensitive to light.
Higher ISO#’s (800, 1600+) mean the camera sensor is more sensitive to light.
Lower ISO’s less grain or noise.
