tdk.gov.tr isim Saz, kamış, ince dal veya tellerden hasır biçiminde örülerek yapılan, genellikle sapı olan, yiyecek ve eşya taşımak için kullanılan kap.
Eskiden insanlar köyden şehre veya kasaba pazarından evlerine dönerken sepet içinde samanlar arasında yumurta götürürlerdi (yumurta örneğini verdim çünkü sepetler böyle biliniyor). Yüksek apartmanlar yapıldıkça Türk insanı üşendiğinden dolayı aşağıdaki bakkal amcaya sepet sallardı ama artık zaman değişti tabi sepette değişti. Türkiye tarihinin en yüksek internet projesi satışı olarak gündemin tepesine çıkarak bütün gün boyunca herkes tarafından kendinden söz ettirdi. Şok derecesinde olan bu satış diğer küçük-büyük bütün internet girişimcilerini heyecanlandırdı.
“Sepet, Sepeti” jenerik bir isim. Herkes tarafından anlaşılır bir kelime, başına ya da sonuna hangi kelime gelirse gelsin sonuç olarak “iki kelime ile” yaptığı işi anlatır durumda olduğu için bir çok yatırımcının ve e-Ticaret sektörünün vazgeçilmez alan adları (domain) oldu. Bugüne kadar yaklaşık *105 adet web sitesi açılmış olduğunu tespit ettik. Bunlardan en pahalı olanı 589 Milyon dolar ile tabiki YemekSepeti.com
